Respiratory Round-Up
American Lung Association® of Idaho held its first ever Respiratory Roundup in October. The event, sponsored by Accredo Therapeutics, Idaho Alpha-1 Community Outreach, Respiratory Allergic and Disease Foundation and CSL Behring, brought together experts in the field to offer COPD patients and their caregivers information to lead healthy and productive lives.
Approximately 70 individuals attended the day-long conference to hear presentations on living with COPD, traveling with oxygen, rehabilitation and nutrition. Participants also had the opportunity to show off their musical talents! Presenter Mike Clark led an interactive session to introduce participants to harmonica therapy as a way to help expand lung function.
Overall, participants gave the conference high marks. One participant said, "I have learned more today than I have from 10 years of knowing I had lung disease. Thank you."
